Add More Adventure to your Life

Life as
a Daring Adventure
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
To keep our faces toward change and behave like
free spirits in the presence of fate is strength
undefeatable – Helen Keller.
Helen Keller is one example of
a person who could so easily have focused on all
the challenges she faced. In a time where many
disabled people in our society were relegated
to a lower class, she forged new pathways and
became an inspiration to many. She looked at her
challenges as an opportunity and worked tirelessly
towards the change she sought. Undaunted Courage
maybe the title of a book by the late Stephen
Ambrose, yet it could easily be the title of Helen
Keller’s biography – instead hers
is called, “The Story of my Life”.
The title of her biography is as unassuming as
the woman herself.
Throughout her life, she continued
the call to adventure for all of us. She lived
what she spoke and proved that one does not have
to be ‘hard’ or ‘uncaring’
to succeed.
Qualities that I see in Helen are courage and
determination, a fearless sense of what is possible
and the ‘daring’ to create what was
really important to her.
Is her sense of a ‘daring
adventure’ and the possibilities life holds
an outmoded concept? I think not.
If you were to choose one thing,
right now, in your life that could become a daring
adventure what would it be? What would it take
for you to begin the journey?
